2 Year Anniversary

Today was our two year wedding anniversary! To celebrate we decided to go to the new Transformers movie and then to Texas Roadhouse for supper! It was delicious. Josh even got me beautiful flowers!

Camping weekend

We decided to go camping at Indian Caves State Park this past weekend. It was great to get away for awhile; it was very relaxing. Here are some of the highlights of the weekend.

Kobi was a tired boy!

Sunset over the Missouri river.

Josh taught Kobi to ride bike!

We decided to go on a hike to the cave. Kobi was our leader.

Yesterday's daily deals

Well I started to post yesterday and didn't quite get around to it. As you can see, I am trying not to overspend on our food budget by finding more coupons and deals. So far it's been working! It's the end of the month and we haven't overspent (yet). We even went out to eat twice! Here are the day's food deals:

Fareway: Spent a whopping $12.69! I price-matched sugar on sale at No Frills for $1, then I had a coupon for a $2 off another sugar if you bought 10 Kool-Aids (which were on sale 10/$1!) Peppers were in the reduced bin for .99, the ranch ended up being .50 and the brownies were each .50. The most I spent was $2.50 on the brats (sp?) for Josh.

Hyvee finds: Spent $6.69! Milk was on sale for $1.50, then I had a coupon for free milk (which took $4.50 off my the bill!!) from a previous promotion. Shredded cheese was on sale for .99, candy bars 3/$1 and bananas on sale for .39. The ketchup ended up being .68 after the sale and a coupon.
Have you found any good deals lately??! I'd love to hear about them:)

Daily deals

This afternoon was a little more exciting, at least for me. Josh headed to work and I went to meet my sister for a little shopping. If you know me at all, you know I love good deals. So here are today's finds.
First stop was Bath & Body Works since they had a 75% off sale. I ended up not buying anything there but my sister found great presents for the kids' teachers. Next was Borders to use our free drink coupons we found through a great website you can find here. I highly recommend the cool creme caramel drink if you ever are thirsty while shopping at Borders! Next stop was a giant garage sale hosted by a church to raise money for less fortunate in the community. Each of these items was $1!

Next stop was Target. I found a PJ set and a shirt, each for $3.74 as well as 3 pairs of dress socks for Josh for $2.98 (all 75% off). Woo hoo for good deals!

Daily happenings

Momo hiding in the new cozy sac!

This morning was pretty uneventful. Josh mowed the lawn while I cleaned Bella & MoMo's cage. They've managed to dirty it up pretty good already; they love their hay!

Since absolutely nothing exciting has happened on my first day of blogging ever, I've decided to add some pictures of what we've been working in and outside the house. Enjoy!
